Acadlore Announces the Launch of the Journal of Intelligent Sustainability and Decision Analytics (JISDA)
Feb 28, 2026AnnouncementsJISDA

Hong Kong, 2026 — Acadlore Publishing is pleased to announce the establishment of a new peer-reviewed international journal, the Journal of Intelligent Sustainability and Decision Analytics (JISDA). The journal has been created to provide a dedicated scholarly venue for research addressing sustainability-related decision problems through rigorous analytical and modelling approaches.

Across sectors such as energy transition, infrastructure planning, industrial transformation and environmental governance, sustainability challenges increasingly involve complex decision environments characterised by multiple objectives, competing criteria and uncertain information. In recent years, the need for transparent analytical frameworks capable of supporting structured decision processes has become more pronounced within both academic research and policy practice. JISDA has been established in response to this development, with the aim of advancing methodological work that strengthens analytical reasoning and decision support in sustainability contexts.

The journal focuses on research that treats sustainability challenges as formal decision problems, where modelling structures, evaluation frameworks and quantitative reasoning are central to understanding how choices are constructed, compared and justified. Particular emphasis is placed on methodological transparency, explicit modelling assumptions and reproducible analytical procedures.

An Analytical Perspective on Sustainability Decision-Making

While a considerable body of sustainability literature is organised around thematic discussion, JISDA adopts a deliberately analytical orientation. The journal seeks contributions that develop or apply decision models capable of supporting structured evaluation, prioritisation and trade-off analysis across environmental, economic and social dimensions.

Areas of interest include, among others:

  • multi-criteria decision analysis and structured evaluation methods

  • analytical frameworks for sustainability assessment and comparison

  • uncertainty modelling and robust decision processes

  • optimisation-informed decision support and trade-off analysis

  • data-driven modelling for complex sustainability systems

  • analytical approaches to resource efficiency, circular economy strategies and ESG integration

  • decision modelling in energy, infrastructure and supply chain systems

Both theoretical and applied contributions are welcomed, provided that submissions demonstrate clear analytical structure and methodological rigour.

Editorial Leadership

The founding Editor-in-Chief of JISDA is Professor Golam Kabir of the University of Regina, Canada. Professor Kabir is an internationally recognised researcher in the areas of sustainable and resilient infrastructure systems, circular economy strategies, and data-driven decision modelling. His work has focused extensively on decision support and risk-informed analysis for complex engineering and infrastructure systems, with particular emphasis on sustainability, resilience, and system reliability. Through contributions spanning multi-criteria decision analysis, infrastructure risk assessment, and sustainable supply chain modelling, his research has attracted broad attention within the sustainability and systems engineering communities.

He is joined by three Associate Editors:

  • Dr Niamat Ullah Ibne Hossain, University of Texas at El Paso, United States

  • Dr Sharfuddin Ahmed Khan, University of Regina, Canada

  • Dr Syed Masiur Rahman, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia

The journal is supported by an international editorial board composed of scholars from universities across North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania and Africa. The board brings together expertise from decision science, operations research, systems engineering, sustainability analytics and infrastructure studies.

Among the board members are several widely recognised researchers in their respective fields, including Professor Angappa Gunasekaran (Pennsylvania State University, USA), known for his influential work in supply chain and operations management; Professor Alessio Ishizaka (NEOMA Business School, France), a leading scholar in multi-criteria decision analysis; Professor Anjali Awasthi (Concordia University, Canada), whose work focuses on sustainable transportation and urban logistics; Professor Rehan Sadiq (Nazarbayev University), recognised for his research on infrastructure risk analysis and environmental decision-making; and Professor Sachin Kumar Mangla (OP Jindal Global University, India), whose work addresses sustainable supply chains and circular economy strategies.

This internationally diverse editorial team reflects the interdisciplinary character of the field and provides a strong academic foundation for the journal’s development.

Supporting Rigorous Sustainability Decision Research

Through a rigorous peer review process, the journal seeks to promote research that strengthens the analytical foundations of sustainability-related decision-making. The journal encourages studies that examine how modelling assumptions, evaluation frameworks and analytical methods influence decision outcomes in complex systems.

By bringing together contributions from engineering, management science, environmental analysis and policy studies, JISDA seeks to facilitate dialogue across disciplines while maintaining a clear focus on methodological clarity and analytical accountability.

Call for Papers

The Journal of Intelligent Sustainability and Decision Analytics now welcomes submissions from researchers worldwide.

The journal publishes original research articles, methodological studies, systematic reviews and analytically grounded empirical investigations addressing sustainability-oriented decision problems.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • sustainability decision models and analytical evaluation frameworks

  • multi-criteria decision methods and comparative system analysis

  • optimisation and modelling for energy transition and decarbonisation strategies

  • circular economy and resource efficiency decision frameworks

  • sustainability decision support for infrastructure, urban systems and supply chains

  • uncertainty and risk analysis in sustainability planning

JISDA is published as an open-access journal by Acadlore and appears on a quarterly basis.
