CiS Achieves Q2 Ranking in CiteScore 2025

Challenges in Sustainability (CiS), published by Acadlore, has achieved a new milestone in its CiteScore performance since being indexed in Scopus, securing a second‑quartile (Q2) ranking in four of its five subject categories in the CiteScore 2025 release. With a CiteScore of 3.7 (262 citations over 70 citable documents, 2022–2025), the journal has recorded its highest rankings to date, demonstrating strong and sustained growth. Notably, CiS has maintained competitive positions in large and highly active fields—including the two important disciplinary clusters of environmental science and social sciences—where its Q2 status reflects both Interdisciplinarity and emerging influence.

Detailed category rankings (Q2 in four of five categories):

  1. Environmental Science (Nature and Landscape Conservation): 67th out of 231 journals (71st percentile)

  2. Social Sciences (Geography, Planning and Development): 282nd out of 876 journals (67th percentile)

  3. Environmental Science (Ecology): 159th out of 491 journals (67th percentile)

  4. Environmental Science (Management, Monitoring, Policy and Law): 187th out of 432 journals (54th percentile)

CiteScore is a transparent and comprehensive metric calculated by Elsevier from data in Scopus, the world’s largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. This metric has been widely adopted by researchers and institutions worldwide as a robust indicator of journal performance and scholarly influence.

CiS is an international peer-reviewed open‑access journal dedicated to advancing sustainability research from environmental, social, and economic perspectives, fostering interdisciplinary scholarship that connects scientific analysis, sustainable technologies, governance frameworks, and behavioural transformation—with particular emphasis on climate resilience, circular economy, renewable energy systems, and evidence‑based policy-making.
