Aug 19, 2026Indexing & MetricsMITSScopus

Hong Kong, August 2026Mechatronics and Intelligent Transportation Systems (MITS) has been accepted for coverage in Scopus following an evaluation by the Scopus Content Selection & Advisory Board (CSAB).

The evaluation confirms that MITS satisfies Scopus requirements regarding editorial governance, publication ethics, peer-review procedures, and relevance to the fields of mechatronics and intelligent transportation systems. In accordance with Scopus indexing policy, the journal’s start coverage year is applied retrospectively from the year of selection minus four years. As MITS was launched in 2022, all articles published since its first volume will be included in Scopus.

MITS is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published under a CC-BY license, providing unrestricted access to scholarly research in intelligent transportation systems, mechatronics, intelligent vehicles, traffic and mobility systems, sensing and control technologies, connected and cooperative transportation, and related interdisciplinary topics. The journal is co-published with the National Maglev Transportation Engineering R&D Center of Tongji University, reflecting a collaborative commitment to advancing research and scholarly communication in these fields. MITS maintains transparent editorial processes and applies rigorous peer-review standards.

The inclusion of MITS in Scopus represents a formal step in the journal’s indexing status. The editorial team will continue to focus on consistent editorial practices, international participation, and the publication of well-documented research within its defined scope.

The editors acknowledge the contributions of authors, reviewers, and editorial board members who have supported the journal’s development.

About National Maglev Transportation Engineering R&D Center

The National Maglev Transportation Engineering R&D Center, affiliated with Tongji University, is an important research and technological innovation platform in the field of maglev transportation in China. Preparations for the Center began in 2001, and it passed the acceptance evaluation of the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2005. In 2012, Tongji University became its host institution. In 2024, the Center was integrated with the Institute of Rail Transit and the College of Transportation Engineering into Tongji University’s transportation discipline, while continuing to operate with relative independence.

The Center conducts research on key technologies for maglev transportation, with major strengths in linear propulsion, maglev system dynamics and levitation–guidance control, system planning and guideway technologies, traction power supply, and operation control. The Center is also supported by major research platforms, including the National Key Laboratory of High-Speed Maglev Transportation Technology and the Railway Industry Key Laboratory of Maglev Technology, providing strong support for maglev technology research and development, technology transfer, and talent cultivation.
