11-03-2022, Acadlore News

We are glad to announce that Prof. Nicola Cardinale, Prof. Adriana Greco, Prof. Guglielmina Mutani, and Prof. Vincenzo Bianco will lead the editorial board of Journal of Sustainability for Energy (JSE), an open access journal of Acadlore. Prof. Nicola Cardinale and Prof. Adriana Greco will serve as editors-in-chief, while Prof. Guglielmina Mutani and Prof. Vincenzo Bianco will work as associate editors.

Nicola Cardinale is an energy engineer, working as a full professor at Department of European and Mediterranean Cultures: Architecture, Environment, Cultural Heritages (DICEM) of the University of Basilicata in Matera (Italy). He has produced a total of about 130 scientific papers, review, educational and informative, mostly in collaboration with other authors. The main themes of the work concerns mainly: exergy analysis and life cycle assessment in the context of sustainable manufacturing,  temperature and humidity performance of buildings and building components with particular reference to the Mediterranean climate, renewable and alternative energy sources, ventilation and diffusion of pollutants in confined spaces, heat transfer with phase change, lighting and acoustic measurements, heat generators, chimney performance, refrigeration technology, technology and bioclimatic materials and diffusion of pollutants in the atmosphere. He is referee of international journals in the energy sector and member of the scientific committee of several international conferences. He was Deputy Director of the Department of European and Mediterranean Cultures: Architecture, Environment, Cultural Heritages (DICEM) from 2012 to 2020.

Prof. Guglielmina Mutani graduated in Civil Engineer in 1993 at Politecnico di Torino (Italy) and her Master’s degree thesis "Simulation techniques for the diffusion of pollutants in confined environments due to fires" was awarded by the Piedmont Region. In 1997 she achieved the Ph.D. in Energetics. In 1997 and 1998, she was a teacher assistant in Buildings Physics at Politecnico di Torino and won a research grant funded by the Piedmont Region. From 1999, she worked as Assistant Professor. Since 2022, she is an Associate Professor of Buildings Physics and Energy Systems at Politecnico di Torino (Italy). She co-authored about 160 papers published in international journals and proceedings of conferences. 73 papers were indexed in SCOPUS with 750 citations and h-index = 17. She co-authored 10 books and 6 chapters (respectively 2 and 3 in English). She is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal “Instrumentation Mesure Metrologie” and is in the Editorial Board of “Tecnica Italiana-Italian Journal of Engineering Science” and “International Journal of Economy, Energy and Environment”. She was co-Guest Editor of the Journal “Sustainability” Special Issues: “Models and Tools for Buildings’ Energy-Use Mapping and Planning at Urban Scale”. She has served as a member of the technical programme committee of many international conferences in the field of building energy modelling and renewable technologies. She is authorized to issue Energy Performance Certificates for buildings and is a registered professional engineer. Her research interests concern energy consumption models at building and urban scale, energy performance certification of buildings, energy savings interventions, renewable energy technologies and indoor/outdoor thermal comfort analyses. She collaborates with researchers from several universities and research institutions.
