We are pleased to announce that Prof. Dr. Yougang Sun has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of Mechatronics and Intelligent Transportation Systems (MITS).

Prof. Dr. Yougang Sun currently serves as Associate Professor at Institute of Rail Transit, Tongji University, Shanghai, China. Previously, he used to be Postdoctoral Fellow at National Maglev Transportation Engineering R&D Center, Tongji University, and visiting scholar at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), CNERC Rail. In 2017, Sun received the Ph.D. degree in mechatronics engineering from Tongji University. Over the years, he has published more than 50 high-quality academic papers, including 24 SCI-indexed papers published as the first / corresponding author. A single paper was cited for 120 times by SCI, and 5 were selected into ESI highly cited papers. These first / corresponding author's papers were cited by SCI for more than 500 times in the past five years. He also works as associate editor or guest editor of many SCI-indexed journals, such as Training Du Signal (IF: 2.58), Advances in Mechanical Engineering (IF: 1.31), Energies (IF: 3.04), Actuators (IF: 1.99), Applied Sciences (IF: 2.67), and Machines (IF=2.8), reviews papers for more than 40 SCI-index journals, and sits in the committee of a dozen influential technical committees or societies. Recently, Prof. Dr. Yougang Sun has received awards and patents like Railway Youth May 4th Medal, Wu Wenjun Second Prize of Artificial Intelligence Technology Progress in 2021, The Second-Class Prize of Shanghai technological invention in 2020, and Best Presentation Award, The International Conference on Applied Nonlinear Dynamics, Vibration, and Control, 2021, to name but a few.

Mechatronics and Intelligent Transportation Systems (MITS) (www.acadlore.com/journals/mits) is an open access refereed journal reporting advances in the state-of-the-art in mechatronic technologies and intelligent transportation systems, as well as their synergistic combinations. MITS provides a chance for researchers around the world to showcase their creative thinking and innovative solutions in areas like control systems of intelligent vehicles, mechanical engineering for transportation, intelligent transportation infrastructure, and e-transportation, to name but a few. The journal is especially interested in the research that leads to improved planning and operation of the transportation system through the application of new mechatronic technologies.
